Best Body

The look for the Best Body Swimsuit competition is that of a swimsuit model or a physique you might see at a beach. This competition was designed to find the most marketable swimsuit models to represent the ideal body for Best Body online magazine (visit bestbodymagazine.com) and for Natural Bodybuilding & Fitness magazine. We are looking for a toned, conditioned physique with no visible cellulite or fat (as with all types of our competitions). Judging is based on body shape, facial beauty, stage presence, poise and elegance. There are no fitness routines and this is not a Bodybuilding or figure competition, therefore there are no actual poses and neither extra leanness nor muscularity is rewarded. The competitors are judged in quarter turns and the model walk or t-walk.

Quarter Turns

The face front pose for Best Body is a little different than Figure. Competitors may lift their heel off the floor, may lift their leg up and may also place a hand on their hip, but they must face their hips and shoulders forward. You want to “stand comfortable” – don’t hold any poses or flex any muscles.

Side pose

In the Best Body side pose, you may look at the judges (Note: in the figure or Bodybuilding competitions, this is not permitted), twist at the hip, lift your heel off the floor or place your hand on your hip.

Back Pose

For this pose, you want to move your hair so it does not obstruct your shoulders or back from the judge’s view. I suggest you ‘T’ your feet instead of standing heel to heel, but you may stand either way. Stand tall, don’t flex your back or open your lats. Don’t flex or tilt your glutes upward – you want to avoid a “shelf” between the glutes and hams.

The t-walk

This pose will be exactly the same as in the Figure competition, except that you do not want to hit any actual poses onstage. Visualize that you are on the cat walk more than on a competition stage, and you will find yourself walking, turning and displaying yourself much shorter and fluently. However, stand tall to display your physique to the best of your ability.

The suit

Your suit of choice should be a type of suit that you would wear on the beach, but a bit dressier. Stay away from a suit that you would wear for Figure, Ms. Fit Body or Bodybuilding as these are usually ‘regulated’ suits. Best Body is a ‘swimsuit’ competition, so there is much more flexibility here with regard to your suit choice.

Scoring

Based on Three (3) Rounds:

  • Round #1: Beauty Presence (facial beauty, tan, hair, makeup, nails etc.)
  • Round #2: Overall Fitness Balance
  • Round #3: Presentation/Model Walk (presentation, poise)

Competition Attire

High-heeled shoes and Jewelry is permitted. Note: Figure and Ms. Fit Body Posing suits, studs, rhinestones, beads or any appliqués whatsoever are not allowed on Best Body competition swimsuits.

T-Walk

Each competitor enters and exits the stage for the T-Walk, then is called back onto stage with all competitors’ front Comparisons.

Stops

4 Stops Total

  • Centre Stage Rear-Front or Side Stance
  • Centre Stage Front-Front-Side Stance, turn around rear stance
  • Stage Right Side Stance
  • Stage Left-Side Stance
  • Then exit stage

(Depending on Venue, whatever side you enter the stage you end up doing your side stance on that that end. Example Entering from Stage Right, your 4th stop will be side stance on stage right, then exit)
